The land plot “Rekreacia”

Jurmala is an internationally famous resort. In order to foster and ensure the long-term development of the City of Jurmala in compliance with the strategic tasks of the city development and the objectives of Riga Regional planning, the City of Jurmala has been defined as a national recreation and SPA medicine development centre. In order to achieve this, it is necessary to develop a modern resort by attracting a growing number of tourists and guests and to improve the quality of life for the residents of Jurmala. It is also necessary to develop culture, sports and entertainment facilities, as well as to promote diverse development of recreational and SPA centres.

The aim of the project is to renovate the historic recreation facility. This facility would operate throughout the year and offer its customers restoration of physical and psychological condition, relaxation and health care, therapeutic procedures (e.g. massages and water procedures), sports and relaxation programmes, and other activities.

The above project implementation, which involves the reconstruction of the building on its current foundation, will not damage the protected area of coastal dunes, the coastal relief, ground cover and the nearby pine forest, the surrounding environment will be improved and the landscape will be preserved.
